In line with President Geshe Tsewang Dorje’s vision to disseminate love and compassion and to teach Buddhist philosophy, Ngari Institute offers Buddhist teachings to our supporters around the world. Practitioners and travelers can arrange a retreat or stay in the institute’s guesthouse in Ladakh. In 2024, we plan to offer Westerners 7-day, 15-day, and 1-month educational programs in higher Buddhist philosophical studies.
Visiting Ngari Institute
Meditation is a great benefit to all. Our meditation center on our 20-hectare (49-acre) campus includes the newly built Jamgom Shedrup Thekchog Ling Monastery and 9 (eventually 11) meditation houses. Each meditation house has a bedroom, meditation room, kitchenette, bathroom with a shower, and solar-heated water. Meditation houses are available for retreats up to 2 months long, from May 15 to October 15. Contact us if you would like to schedule private or group retreats for Tara practice, meditation, yoga, or a program of your choice.
Ngari Institute’s Norling Guesthouse is open to our all friends from around the world who are visiting Ladakh. Each room has two single beds, a desk and a nightstand, a large closet, and a private bathroom with a shower and solar-heated water. You can join the monks for meals in the dining room, practice in our meditation center, walk around beautiful Saboo Model Village, and sit on our porch to enjoy the views of our orchard and 6,150-meter (20,190-foot) Stok Kangri. Rooms are available from May 15 to October 15. Contact us to reserve one.
